Whenever I’m on vacation, I seem to always stress about places I’m going to eat … where will I be able to find GF food? I am in Pagosa Springs, Colorado for vacation and for my first restaurant encounter, I found a really cute place to eat called Kips Grill. It was small, but they had indoor and outdoor seating. It had a very cool atmosphere and they also had a decent amount of GF choices on their menu.
I started with the chips, salsa and guacamole. Chips were good but not homemade and the salsa and guacamole were both fresh and very flavorful. For their GF lunch options they had several different tacos to choose … from top sirloin, portobello which is vegetarian, and fish tacos which is what I opted for. It was made with Ono fish (a mild and flaky white fish), corn tortillas, fresh cabbage slaw and you have your choice to add cheese and/or avocado. I chose the avocado. I was pleasantly surprised when they brought the food out. There were three tacos which were generously stuffed and they were delish! The fish was perfectly cooked and it paired perfectly with their fresh salsa and a nice cold Corona (wouldn’t recommend Corona if you have a true gluten allergy). All in all it was a success. I will return.
