This past weekend I wanted to try something different than my usual restaurant pick so I decided on Blue Sage…a BYOB located in Southampton, PA. Its a vegetarian restaurant with tons of GF options! When we arrived it was pretty crowded but we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and very helpful letting me know about the GF options since none of the items are labeled GF on the menu. I do want to give you a heads up that the atmosphere is not the best, but the deliciousness of the food (in my opinion) makes up for that.
I wanted to try so many different things on the menu but for the appetizer we stared with the Goat Cheese Nachos which included blue corn chips, black beans, roasted corn, red peppers, grape tomatoes, cilantro and creamy goat cheese manchengo. I have to say these were probably one of the best nachos I have ever tasted. The goat cheese manchego was amazing I wanted to finish the entire dish myself. Not to mention the portion size was huge!
For my entree it was a hard decision but I ended up going with the Buddha Tacos which was sweet potato hash, chile creme’ fraiche, avocado, heirloom pico and cucumber. It also comes with peanuts but I held off on those. The tacos were very flavorful, all of the ingredients were very fresh and the tortillas held together pretty well. The portion size was decent and I wanted so badly to clear my plate but I wasn’t able to (I probably shouldn’t have eaten so many nachos HA)!
I also want to include what my boyfriend ordered…the Falafel Gyro which was falafel fritters, tomato relish, grilled onions and peppers, cucumber yogurt and red pepper hummus. This can be made GF without the pita bread. I had a taste of the falafel and it was very good and he was happy with everything as well! It also comes with a side salad. All in all, I was extremely happy with everything and I will definitely be bringing back the rest of family so they can experience the goodness as well. Next time I’ll be sure to leave room for dessert.
