King of Prussia, Pa is not only known for the enormous King of Prussia mall but also all of the booming restaurants that are opening up around the mall. It’s hard to choose which one to try first, but I decided on a place called “True Food Kitchen”. Dr. Andrew Weil is the founder and has the belief that food should make you feel better not worse and that’s definitely the case with True Food Kitchen. They have a ton of gluten free options as well as vegan and vegetarian and their menu changes with the different seasons. The atmosphere is organic with a contemporary feel.
There was so many GF options on the menu that I wanted to try but I decided to start with the Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Flatbread and have one word to describe it…AMAZING! Besides the beets and goat cheese it also included arugula, pumpkin seeds and cilantro pumpkin seed pesto. It was so flavorful and the ingredients were paired perfectly with each other. I could have definitely eaten the whole thing myself.
For my entree I chose the Grilled Chicken Avocado Wrap. It’s not marked gluten free on the menu, but I double checked with our waiter and they actually had gluten free pita. The wrap had grilled chicken, organic tomato, cucumber, hummus, fresh mozzarella and lemon oregano vinaigrette. Everything was fresh and the pita was very good! Definitely not disappointed in my choice!
I don’t typically order dessert but once I saw GF squash pie on the menu I knew I had to try it! It was made with a graham crust and was topped with coconut whipped cream. It was so yummy and definitely hit the spot. Just what I needed after a delicious meal! I highly recommend True Food Kitchen for anyone in the area.
