Happy New Year! I apologize I have not posted anything in quite awhile, the holidays were a little hectic. But now I am back and in full swing! Unfortunately, I am not off to a good start with my next restaurant review. This past weekend I was in the mood for Italian food and decided to go to Davio’s Italian Steakhouse in King of Prussia, PA. I have been to Davio’s before but its been awhile since my last visit. They have a separate gluten-free menu with a ton of choices like different pasta dishes, meats and fish which is one thing thing I liked about it.
To start, they give the table popovers and for the GF foodies a muffin which was warm and tasty especially with a little dab of butter. For my appetizer I ordered the Chopped Romaine Salad which included green beans, egg, tomatoes, bacon and blue cheese. It was a decent size, actually enough for two people to share. I thought it was really good and perfectly dressed not too overpowering. Everything was very fresh and crisp.
For my entree I decided on the 8oz Center Cut Filet and for sides the Fingerling Potatoes with Herb Butter and Broccoli Rabe with Grilled Lemon. Unfortunately, the meal was very underwhelming. I will say the steak was cooked perfectly but it was very bland, no flavor whatsoever. We actually had to order the Davio’s Steak sauce which tasted like BBQ sauce and didn’t make the steak any better. As for the sides, the potatoes were not seasoned well either and they were super dry…plus I didn’t see any herb butter with the potatoes. The Broccoli Rabe was extremely bitter to the point where I couldn’t even eat it.
Needless to say I left the restaurant very unsatisfied and annoyed especially for the cost of the meal, I expected a lot better!
